Penang Style Grilled Fish served on Banana Leaf |
Price: MYR11 (Fish MYR10, Rice MYR1)
Taste: In contrast to the Portuguese style with 'gravy' the Penang style was dry. But I think the dish was a slight bit over cooked as the marinade was too dry and hard on the fish.
The dish was tasty overall, it had a very neutral taste (and it was not at all spicy) which was accentuated by the sour belacan sauce served by the side. The fish was a bit tougher compared to the other style (could be due to over cooking. Better tasting than the Portuguese style though. Rating:7/10

As you can see it was slightly overcooked, but didn't affect the taste much |
Value: the serving was alright for the price paid. Good enough for a single person to feel full, but can also serve as a shared side dish for two. Rating:7/10
Overall Rating: 7/10
Accompanied by the ice kacang, after a second try, the dish was consistent in flavor and texture. You can click here for the ABC review:ABC Stall 11 Review
